Iron Man director Jon Favreau said that Emily Blunt will not play Black Widow in Marvel’s upcoming sequel, according to movies and music blog The Playlist. Favreau said Fox appears to be exercising an option that can prevent her from working on the project. As EW reported on Feb. 13, Blunt’s commitment to Twentieth Century Fox and the studio’s upcoming Gulliver’s Travels movie may prohibit her from costarring in Iron Man 2. Sources tell EW Marvel has been talking to Scarlett Johansson about taking on Black Widow, but Marvel will not confirm. Shooting is set to start on Iron Man 2 this April.

ANYONE BUT SCARLETT JOHANSON!!!
Boo to Fox.
Can Fox not ruin any more superhero movies?
Hey Fox, I hear your Wolverine sucks too. After their Watchmen hissy fit, I think I’ll be a lot more discerning about Fox movies. Certainly won’t pay for them anymore.
Can’t believe they are even considering Scarlett Johanson! Emily Blunt would have been great, or why not Rachael Weisz?
Ugghh, Scarlett Johansen? I bought the initial buzz about her being a talented actress when I saw her in Ghost World and Lost in Translation because I excused her for being minimalist in her acting in those movies. It wasn’t until I saw her in the rest of her movies that I realized, “Oh, she just can’t act”. She’s just inexpressive and boring to watch, and you need good actors for these comic book roles because it’s easy to both overact or underact, but it’s much worse to underact in my opinion. Iron Man 2 isn’t shaping up well so far, with the news of the other guy being cut out of the movie.
To Officer Farva. Yeah, I agree with you. Honestly, I haven’t seen a movie studio actively try to fukk up their comic book movies like Fox has. It’s like they try to do as many bad things as possible to make them fail. Yet, they did kickstart the comic book movie industry with the Xmen & Blade movies, and now Iron Man. And even though they didn’t make Watchmen, they do have the rights to it, and that movie is going to blow people away because Zach Snyder seems to have done the smart thing and just stick to the incredibly deep story. Fox just seems to win with these franchises no matter how badly they handle them. But bad management will derail any good thing eventually.
Yuck on Scarlett Johanson.
