Representatives for Clay Aiken have confirmed reports that the singer is no longer signed with his longtime label, RCA Records. "We were unable to come to terms in a recent contract negotiation and decided that it was best to move on," said the American Idol alum’s camp in a statement. Aiken signed with RCA in 2003 shortly after placing second on Idol. RCA declined to comment on the news.

Yet another example of how someone with SO much promise squandered a golden opportunity, Clay. Too much schlock.
Why does this not surprise me.
Thank God Clay has gotten away from that albatross called RCA. They never did a thing for him in the years he was there.
This is the best news I’ve heard.
Congratulations to Clay Aiken . This is good news .
This is great news! RCA hardly promoted his last CD “On My Way Here”. On to better things.
Ash: Just to let you know that it was CLAY’s decision to break from RCA and RCA did not dump him so the spin likes to say !! And you tell me how a person is supposed to buy his CD’s if there are not promoted by this excuse for a lable ? Clay Aiken has the ‘pipes’ and can sing circles around most artists , but when you are MANDATED and told to do a ‘covers’ CD by old Clive Davis & RCA when you have it planned to go in another direction with your music what are you to do but just wait out the contract. Clay has proven he is a star. Those in the industry are well aware of this fact. He got phenominal reviews for his acting on Broadway . I am beyond pleased that he can put out whatever he choses and his fans will be here to support him . I have seen him 5 times in concert and can’t wait for my sixth!!!
You’ll never get me to believe RCA didn’t dump him.
