The third–and long-awaited–entry in the ultra-successful Fockers franchise is starting to kick. According to The Hollywood Reporter, writer-director John Hamburg (the upcoming I Love You, Man) has been brought aboard to write the screenplay for Little Fockers, which is expected to revolve around the offspring of Ben Stiller and Teri Polo’s married couple. Jay Roach, who directed the first two Focker films, will not return to duties this time; as one of the producers, however, he and his cohorts are currently eyeing Chris Weitz (New Moon), Peyton Reed (Yes Man), and David Wain (Role Models) to take over for Roach. Stiller, Robert DeNiro and Owen Wilson are currently in negotiations to join the film, which is expected to begin lensing by this fall.

You put quotes around Fockers. I should have been around “comedy”.
Long Awaited? Really?
What happened to the Owen Wilson who “views acting as his downfall”, was “concentrating on writing”, “reevaluating” and “making some real life-changing decisions”, as was stated after his suicide attempt?
All that introspection for yet another “Meet the Fockers” flick and the third-lead in a rom-com with Reese Witherspoon (a la Vince Vaughn)??
I thought that maybe his “troubles” being made public and turning forty recently might shift his focus and inspire the creation of another Dignan-like character.
Why do I allow this guy to keep breaking my cinematic heart?
Wes: LOL!!
Please tell me Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffman will be back. They can just have little cameos or something, but they were so hilarious as the Fockers.
