'Octomom' loses PR team; will Hollywood give up on her, too?

Tagged:

The decision by two Brentwood, Calif., publicists to stop representing Nadya Suleman underscores just how impatient — and angry — the public has become over the controversial mother of 14 children. Joann Killeen told the Los Angeles Times that she and her husband-partner Mike Furtney decided to drop Suleman as a client after they received many threatening calls and letters. The duo, who had been representing Suleman for free, created a website for the 33-year-old single and unemployed mother that sought donations for her octuplets and six other children.

"The American public has just lashed out," Killeen told the newspaper. "I think it has to do with the economy, healthcare … there are not a lot of jobs, people are unemployed and are trying to take care of their families."

A Tennessee-based firm has stepped up to manage Suleman’s appearances and a possible book deal. It’s unclear whether Suleman is still a prime candidate for a reality show, though Furtney had told EW that the offers were "serious." TLC President Eileen O’Neill also told EW that "there is a [waiting] period here to see if there’s something that we as a network feel makes good sense. There are so many things going on in that woman’s life right now … we’re all waiting to see what happens next."

TLC viewers — using the network’s website as a sounding board — have threatened to boycott any new show that would feature Suleman and her brood.

I think that Octomom should do a reality show. At the least the money from the show would pay her bills.

Giving her her own show would only encourage others to act just as irresponsibly. I think that she should have all her children removed from her care.

This woman will be the death of TLC if they even think to make a tv show based on her. She needs mental help.

Octomom doesn’t need a reality show, she needs a reality check. I will most certainly boycott any shows or product endorsements for that greedy, selfish, irresponsible woman.

The Mom. Doctor and all involved should be committed.Social services should step in and remove the children. The Doctor should be barred from practicing medicine.

This woman has not thought about what it means to raise children. She represents the lack of social responsibility that is hurting our country and community.

Do we reward irresponsible people like the publicity seeking physician and the Octomom? Heaven, help us if we start doing that. I can imagine how many other selfish people would jump at that chance…so let’s just ignore the whole subject matter and see how long that woman and her doctor still think this was a “wonderful” idea!!

Taking the kids away does nothing to solve the problem of the taxpayers picking up the tab. Perhaps the Dr and the sperm donor should have some court-ordered paternal financial responsibility assigned.

Do you agree that perhaps we should stop
    rewarding people for bad behavior?
We give them money and fame for making bad choices.
Maybe we should put our effort into finding out if this woman deserved a disability check? What are the guidlines to getting money from the government? Is it legal to take government money for education and get plastic surgery?
And how does she intend to take care of her 14 kids..without assistance?
I refuse to watch or buy any book that this woman puts out..because it will be based upon lies and her ability to rationalize what she is doing?
It appears as though people are finally starting to be aware of the lack of integrity that we have blindly been ignoring for too long.

I will not watch any show that features this selfish, irresponsible, delusional woman and I will let any potential sponsors know that I will stay away from their products as well. I hope the state steps in and takes these babies and adopts them out because they deserve much better than the life Nadya Suleman can offer them.

This woman needs to appear on the Jerry Springer show. She is the type of circus act he is looking for. Though, it might destroy his ratings too.

they could call it “can you be dumber” the first show will show a guy riding a bike down the side of a 30 story building and a girl being dragged behind a bus seeing how long her tennis shoes will last and man pounding 16d nails into concrete with his forehead
