Dan Brown has completed his long-awaited (and long-delayed) followup to the 2003 mega-best-seller The Da Vinci Code, according to a Reuters report on an interview that Da Vinci Code film director Ron Howard gave to Entertainment Tonight on Thursday. Suzanne Herz, a spokeswoman for Brown’s publisher, Doubleday, released a statement saying only that Brown "is making great progress" and that the publisher could not yet announce a title or publication date. Brown’s new book is the third featuring Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, who is played by Tom Hanks both in Howard’s 2006 film of The Da Vinci Code and in this May’s adaptation of Angels & Demons. The Da Vinci Code sold an estimated 70 million copies worldwide, so the prospect of Brown’s book heading to stores this year should give a boost to battered booksellers still reeling from one of the worst holiday sales seasons on record.

The Da Vinci code was a big piece of crap that people were convinced they had to like or else they were not cool. It was a bore and totally unbelievable. If you don’t believe me look under the 3rd eyebrow hair of the Mona Lisa when the sun is at a 45 degree angle on a month that ends with y in the year of the monkey.
Only good as toilet paper.
I prefered Angelsnd Demons over The DaVinci Code. You have no idea how annoying it is that they are making AD a sequel when its actually a prequel to TDC.
Who gives a crap?
Brown’s novels all follow EXACTLY the same formula. Does that make them bad? No. But it does make them a little predictable after you’ve read a couple. TDC was a much better book than movie, but that’s just the nature of the beast.
I agree Sharlin. Angels and Demons is a much better book then The DaVinci Code.
Having read all of Dan Brown’s books I am looking forward to reading his next one.
I didn’t like the movie a bit, but I tell you what could have gone a long way towards making it at the very least tolerable: not casting Tom Hanks in that role. It was tailor made for David Strathairn, if any cares about my opinion.
Angels and Demons was great. Da Vinci Code was good too. Problem is TOO many people liked it so we have to deal with this backlash. I thought the new book was called “The Solomon Key”
Dan Brown is a reclusive weirdo. How could it possibly take him 6 years to get this damn book completed? Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait to get my hands on it, but come on, Dan, stop hiding from the world.
for me this book are more good than the movie because i really understand the plot. i love the books by Dan brown
