Michael Moore prepping Wall Street documentary

Filed under: News and tagged:

Michael Moore has let it be known that his next film will revolve around the money business. In an open letter on his website, the caustic documentarian asks for "a few brave people who work on Wall Street or in the financial industry to come forward and share with me what they know…. I believe there are a number of you who know ‘the real deal’ about theabuses that have been happening. You have information that the Americanpeople need to hear."

Moore goes on to promise, "All correspondence with me will be kept confidential." While working on his previous theatrical feature, Sicko, the director encountered push back from members of the health care industry when word got out that he was making a movie about their field. In a 2007 interview with EW, Moore recalled that situation: All these internal memos and training sessions in the companies for howto handle Michael Moore: ”Get him talking about any Detroit sportsteam or compliment him on how much weight he’s lost recently.”"

    Michael Moore is a d-bag.

Shouldn’t he be smoking the hippie lettuce with Phelps?

  • Jim

Can’t wait to see what the bloated pig has in store for us this time. If it has half the facts as F-911 it should be a real eye opener.

Ummm, Michael Moore is a “d-bag” for uncovering the truth?? Actually, no, he’s a man who is trying to expose the scum who f****d the country up. I assume by your responses you idiots must work on wall street. Or you just like seeing your country go down the toilet.

  • Sharlin

    I like Michael Moore

Sorry Sara, you are wrong wrong wrong. He is in the business of spreading propaganda, not finding out the truth. Like he has done in the past, he will just muddy the waters with partial-truths to make an already horrible situation just that much more confusing. You ma’am are the idiot if you believe he is all about uncovering the truth.

It’s nice to know that, like any good documentary filmmaker, he is going in with an open mind and not with an agenda as evidenced by his use of the word “abuse”. (insert eye rolling smiley face here)

  • Jim

arby64 – What do you mean? Are you implying that this meat-whistle has an agenda? Michael Moore’s only agenda is to expose the truth, nothing moore nothing less. If you don’t believe that, you are just one of these animals that wants to see the Country go down the toilet. Just ask Sara, she seems to know what’s going on.

No, if Mr. Moore was interested in getting truth, he would be sending these letters to every staff member on Capitol Hill. That is where our problems originated. (Hard to believe, huh?)
But no, this guy only wants to go after targets he thinks will earn him love from the blue-collar American he claims to champion. He wouldn’t know a true documentary if it nailed him in the … well, you know.
Hey, Mike, how much money have you made from dividends by holding stock in the companies you’re now planning to trash?

He’s all about presenting his side of the argument in an entertaining way. This is not without merit. Propaganda gets a bad name these days. It’s not always used to fool the naive or turn people against one other. Sometimes you can just use it to effectively give your point of view. Even nature documentaries are technically propaganda. It’s just that the anti-photosynthesis lobby isn’t very vocal.

Sara, you’re an absolute idiot if you’re buying into any of the crap Michael Moore promotes in his films. He movies shouldn’t even be called documentaries because he distorts all of the facts and is never truthful to any of the subjects that he tackles. Like any good narrative filmmaker he’s “making” you see things the way that he sees them and the way that he want you to see them. He’s a despicable human being.

  • Jim

There is a real problem when you put outright lies into a film and call it a documentary. If you call it a documentary, people drop their guard and feel they are getting an honest take on the subject. “Honest take” and “Michael Moore” do not belong in the same sentence. Entertainment, fairy tale, fiction, propaganda – all yes, not documnetary. He knows what he is doing, and he knows people will be more gullable if he calls it a documentary, so that’s what he calls his films. He has an agrenda to shovel and he has no problem lying.

Michael Moore rocks. His documentaries are as fair and balanced as Fox News, but he is far more entertaining. And does actually shed some light on the situation. I don’t think he has ever made a film with an open mind. He has an agenda and he backs it up.

  • Deacon

I documentary does mean unbiased. It just means he uses real footage as opposed to scripted/staged sequences. But I do think his take is very honest, it is just his point of view.
