Howard isn’t worth listening to – every time I decide to try again to see what the hype is about I get offended within 2 minutes. Before I get bashed, I’m a straight white male – I just don’t think he’s funny.
I signed up with Sirius because it was free (came with the car) and kept it because of the Blues station. That’s been gutted since the XM merger, but is slowly recovering. That and the humor stations make it worth while.
with ipods being as cheap as they are, holding as many songs as they do…hit shuffle and….WHOOOHOOO NO COMMERCIALS AND NO MONTHLY FEE….
I could care less about Stern. He is NOT as responsible as he like to think about bringing customers to sirius. I bought sirius for the music and sports. Wasting $100 mil a year on him is ridiculous
If they got rid of Stern it won’t do squat to them but save them money. I have had Sirius radio for about 3 years now and I haven’t listened to him once. I used to until I got tired of his B. S.. He has made too many jokes about issues he shouldn’t be joking about. I remember the time I turned him off for the last time. He was in the middle of a Aids joke talking about Magic Johnson. Johnson has just released the story of his illness. I’m not a fan of basketball, but I have respect for people’s health and well being. Adios Stern!! and good riddance!
Great, mergers are a great idea huh folks? Get rid of Stern he hasn’t been funny in YEARS. Martha too. 2 overpaid morons.
Um, sorry but if XM was doing so fine without Howard why did they need to be bought up by Sirius before they went under? As soon as Howard came on board, their customer base skyrocketed immediately. While satellite radio did become popular, the increase in listeners was absolutely due to Howard. This was not something that happened over time but was immediate.
Fire Howard, he’s been mean to me.
Howard Stern sucks. He talks about the same mundane crap every day. Listening to porn is pointless.
I, for one, got Sirius for the music.
Howard Stern is disgusting. I don’t have XM for that reason. Anyone who pays someone 1 mil for that kind of entertainment should go out of business.
Sirius had less than 1 million subscribers prior to Stern’s first year on board. Now….Sirius has nearly 6-7 million subscribers. $12.95(12) x 7 million subscribers = 1 billion dollars annually > Stern’s $100 mil/year.
Wow….everyones ignorance of how Howard and Bubba have kept Sirius afloat bringing over millions . Do you really think that the 50′s and 60′s channels are income generating, get real.
Try reading the background about how debt was incurred you ignorant hillbillys, The FCC screwing with them. Its the contracts with Martha, Oprah, Slim Shady, that produce horrible content and they are never on. P.S. Steve Langford has a HUGE ……..
Howard Stern is a good reason not to subscribe to XM SIRIUS. Since I purchased a subscription several years ago all the stations I wanted have since changed so much that I probably won’t renew. Classic Radio is now reruns six days a week and The Standard Time is now mainly Sinatra. You would think that George Bush was in charge of programming.
xm is the best radio there is! i’d rather have it than cable tv and i do not want to lose it. as for these celebrities it is clear they are the reason its bankrupt now. thanks to the greed of those that have enough already.
OPIE AND ANTHONY RULES!
I just see a whole lot of haters here. So Sirius was smaller than XM and with Stern they take over XM and Stern is a nobody? Financially Sirius will eliminate Oprah (who is never on her channel), Martha Stewart and maybe Russo but will keep Howard because of his loyal fan following. Howard does not need Sirius, it’s Sirius that needs Howard.
