Push: Based on a Novel by Sapphire, an award winner at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, is entangled in legal issues involving Lionsgate (which bought the movie at Sundance) and the Weinstein Co. (which belives it has the rights to distribute the picture). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate, in what appeared tobe a pre-emptive move, filed suit against TWC on Monday, claiming the studio hasno "right, title or interest" in the film. Several hours later, TWC filed its own suit against both Lionsgate and Push’ssales agent, Cinetic Media, for breach of contract. TWC believes ithad a firm agreement with Cinetic, which, it claims, then went behind TWC’s back to make a better deal with Lionsgate. Push, from director Lee Daniels, is being promotionally supported by both Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry.

Watched a clip online today. The film looks amazing.
I saw Push at Sundance and still can’t believe how amazing it was. It’s beautiful, scary, and inspiring. I believe Mo’Nique deserves massive critical acclaim– Oscar! Every aspect of this film is perfect but the directing is what stands out– Lee Daniels will be a force in film. Olease don’t miss.
