Cereal manufacturer Kellogg will allow its contract with Olympian Michael Phelps to expire at the end of the month, Advertising Age reports. The announcement comes just three days after the appearance of photos in which the swimmer is shown smoking marijuana. "Michael’s mostrecent behavior is not consistent with the image of Kellogg," said a rep for the company in a statement.

do they know that, besides kids of course, most of their cereal is bought for college kids. and well….
you get the idea
From what I understand, “Frosted Flakes” are great for the munchies.
No big surprise here. Michael, why would you toke with the possibility of having a camera around? Stupid you.
Booo Hissss. Now I won’t be buying Kellogs.
And to think I thought they were a progressive company.
Phelps should not be raked over the coals for this.
Lame, Kellogg. Sooo lame.
…and do they think the person who came up with the idea for Rice Krispie Squares was straight?
Meh… come next Olympics this entire stupid and trivial crusade against him for *oh my, using pot!!* will be forgotten. He’ll have plenty of new endorsements. Kelloggs will probably come crawling back.
Good for Kellogg’s. Whether you think smoking pot is no big deal or not, it’s illegal. If you don’t like the laws, then put down the bong and rise up and change them. But until then, if someone does something that’s technically illegal, a company probably shouldn’t endorse them, or keep them on as a representative of their products. Phelps can be a “normal” 23 year old all he wants, but he’s in a position of extra responsibility, and if he wants to choose to drink and smoke pot like a lot of young people, fine, but then he might have to make other sacrifices, like losing endorsements. I think for Kellogg’s to drop him sends a pretty decent message to people – that responsibility is important, and that consequences exist. I’d be happy to see a change away from this current society of entitlement.

(But all just one humble opinion.
I guess they can afford to throw away the potential of 42% of the population which is the approximate percentage that tokes. I can do without Kellogg. They can’t do without us.
Lets have a boycott of ALL Kellogg products, Even when you have the munchies.
They are all, Kellogg, Post etc all religious reich-wing weirdos who developed their cereals because of their cult teachings. (Don’t believe me? Look it up.)

Let me say, as the agent who represents Mr. Micheal Phelps, I am not concerned with the dropping of my client by Kellogg Foods… I am happy to announce, however, that I have just secured Mr. Phelps a new endorsement deal with High Times Magazine and Zig-Zag Rolling Papers. Thank You
Hahahahha
That’s what he gets!!!
You have to be an idiot to smoke pot while having multi millon dollar contracts and expect not to get caught.
What’s done in the dark always come to the light
Oh well. Gen Y isn’t the brightest group, clearly. Besides, the kid’s rich enough as it is. Who cares?
This whole thing is absurd. First of all, he’s a kid. Not that it even matters, but cut him some slack. What boggles my mind are the people out there who are reacting as if he got caught doing lines, or shooting heroin. This is marijuana, which is arguably less destructive a drug than alcohol.
What people SHOULD be outraged at is the turncoat, money-slurping douchebag who took the picture and put it out there. That is the great American tragedy. Greedy, soulless twits who will throw a GOOD MAN under a bus, just so they can make a few bucks.
Let’s get outraged at that before we get outraged that a kid in his early 20′s took a bong hit.
Our last president did coke and drove drunk, and the same people who are bitching about Phelps wrapping his lips around a bong are the same people who elected Bush TWICE.
Let’s stop being hypocrites and give the kid a pass.
