Universal is doing a reimagined take on The Thing, according to Variety, based on the same source material as John Carpenter’s 1982 horror film and the 1951 Howard Hawks original, The Thing From Another World. The story is based on a shape-shifting alien that overcomes the inhabitants of a remote camp. Battlestar Galactica exec producer Ron Moore will write the script and commercials director Matthijs Van Heijningen will direct.

Wrong wrong wrong!! The Carpenter version is a classic; please Hollywood, leave the classics alone!
NOOOO! NOOOO! A thousand times NO!!
Hollywood, enough of the Sequels, Prequels, and Remakes . . . Give the audience something NEW!!!
why fix it if it ain’t broken?
I agree. These remakes are NEVER as good as the originals.

I agree that Hollywood is TOO remake crazy, but let’s not knock remakes with a big broad stroke. After all, Carpenter’s classic is a remake itself!! (That being said, this is a bad idea…why not come up with a new terrific horror concept?)
