Bob May, the veteran vaudeville actor and stuntman who played The Robot in the popular ’60s sci-fi series Lost in Space, has died of heart failure, the Los Angeles Times reports.
May’s character is most remembered for its "Danger, Will Robinson!" line, which remains a pop culture catchphrase 40-plus years after the series ended in 1968. Ironically, the line was voiced not by May, but by announcer Dick Tufeld.
In the years since the series ended, May appeared at sci-fi conventions. In 1998, the series was reimagined as a major film starring Gary Oldman, William Hurt and Matt LeBlanc.

God bless… Bob you help me have a childhood full for fantasy and wonder. Thank you.

That’s sad to hear. I would see him from time to time at Sci Fi Conventions. He was very nice.
This is a loss to the Hollywood Family. Actors/people like Bob May are so far and few. Computer have taken a lot of that away. My regards to the family and friends.
RIP
I personally know the May’s and am crushed at the news of his death!!! Bob May and his family have endured so much loss within the last 3 months I can not imagine how his family are coping with this loss!!! He lost his home in the recent Sylmar fires and had been ill for some time!!! So unfair!!! All our Love & Prayers are with The May’s!!!
Now he’s truly ‘lost in space’.
R.I.P.
Now that’s not nice Gari. I don’t see any humour in that whatsoever. Maybe google that phrase ‘humour’ and see what you come up with.
Oh sad to hear this bad news. I did not know the man, but his robotic voice from the Lost in Space series the one liners he blurted will always be classic lines that will never date.

I actually met him at a comix book convention back in the day in 1982 in the outer suburbs of Melbourne and he was a real knob.
Rude, arrogant and wouldn’t put on the robot voice for a legion of fans that had turned up specifically to meet him.
He won’t be missed (by me anyway)
LOL.
The last two comments were not mine
And neither is this one. My super hero name is ‘captain obvious’.
this sucks dogs nuts. some punk ass is leaving stupid comments pretending to be me.
why can’t you leave me be and stop denigrating a beautiful homage to this great actress?
