More fuel for the rumor that has High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens cast as werewolf Leah Clearwater in Twilight sequel New Moon: Twilight’s Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, told MTV at a Golden Globes afterparty that Hudgens has actually auditioned for the role. "I think she’d be great," MTV quotes Greene as saying of Hudgens. EW has not yet been able to confirm the report, but rest assured, we’re on it.

I have nothing specifically against Vanessa. However, Twilight already has been fighting the reputation of being compared to High School Musical. We really do not need this. The Twilight series is also for adults and I personally do not want any Disney people in it. I mean why don’t we just get the Jonas Brothers to be the rest of the werewolves. For crying out loud.

“Twilight” isn’t exactly the edgiest material in the entire world. It’s a young adult vampire romance novel! Get some perspective people.
I was already slightly disappointed with Twilight but had high hopes that with the new director and bigger budget they could get this franchise on the right track..but, ugh, SERIOUSLY? This girl, as a vampire, from the Dinsey channel for Tweens…seriously? I will not go anywhere near the movie. It would just seem they want to get the little kiddies involved with this franchise and gain more money.
If they cast her in the movie then are going to loose a lot of fans. She is just not right for that part. Stay away from disney channel

The Twilight series is not exactly targeting a different group of people than Disney does/HSM/Vanessa hudgens. They said the same thing about Heath Ledger when he was cast as the joker. Oh he can’t do it.. WHAT that is from left field? Just saying

Ok guys, I know we are all very protective of our twilight series. I am included in that statement. HOWEVER…The people who cast films do that job for a reason, they have had to work to get there and they know what they are talking about. Just because someone has never acted in this sort of film does not mean that they can not play the part they need to, and the people casting the movie would not put someone in a role they did not feel was right for them. Breathe, ‘chillax’, let them get on with it and critique the film when you see it.
I am sorry, but you canot compare someone like Heath Ledger(who before being cast as The Joker, was already a respected and Oscar-nominated actor) with someone like Hudgens, who cannot act(yes I saw High School Musical, I love musicals and was excited then too see this but then as it ended could not believe I watched that. It is all very good for the young kids but it doesn’t provide much plot, or acting.)
You can NOT compare Ledger, who was a true actor, even though some did not believe in him they still KNEW he was a great performer, to a person like Hudgens who cannot act. She’s good enough for the disney channel, but she is no movie actress. I can’t believe that comparison. And yeah, Twilight is probably now trying to target the same Disney group, but the heart of the Twilight fans do not lie in with the 10/12 yr olds(who may not grasp the full context of the story). We know who we are, and we still believe in this franchise. For now, at least
