John Travolta's son dies in the Bahamas

John Travolta’s 16-year-old son Jett died today while the family was vacationing in the Bahamas, Reuters reports. The young man reportedly died after suffering a seizure at his family’s vacation home on Grand Bahama Island. According to Access Hollywood, Jett fell and hit his head on the bathtub in his hotel room, and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Jett, who had a history of seizures, is John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston’s eldest child. They also have a daughter, Ella Blue, who was born in 2000.

As a “nieghbor” of the Travolta’s (I live in Ocala, FL). I want to extend my deepest regrets to the family. The whole town loves having them, and I am sure everyone here sends their regards as well.

Oh, how sad. Is there anything worse than the sudden death of a child? My thoughts and prayers are with John, Kelly, and Ella.

Oh man, why. I love John Travolta and Kelly Preston and why did this tragedy had to befall them. The couple, as far as we know, is one of the stablest and together couples in Hollywood. My deepest and heartfelt condolence.

How Tragic…. My deepest sympathy to the Travolta family I can’t imagine what they must be going through. Im so sorry for your loss.

Were John and Kelly there too? Or was the 16-yr old just using his parents’ vacation house? If his parents were there, wouldn’t they have noticed he was gone?? There’s a pretty big gap between Thursday and Friday morning…

    How sad.

The family was there. It would be very easy to lose track of a teenager from one evening until the next day — Jett was not a small child. Criticizing the family, even by implication, is a bit much.
Not enough is known for anybody to say anything except that this is tragic for this or any family. My sympathies.

It hurt so much to read this–I know how devoted the Travoltas are to their family and I can not imagine the heartbreak they are experiencing tonight. My sincere sympathy to them.

That would be “neighbor”. Thanks for sharing. No one cares, esp not the Travolta’s

My heart goes out to them, as it would to ANY family who loses a child. Emily, I’m not sure your detective work is required, but maybe you could join forces with mall cop.
